About

My name is Jennifer Matott and I’m an art teacher at Longbranch Elementary school in Liverpool, NY.  That is outside of Syracuse, NY.  This is my first art education blog and I’m hoping to share fun tips, techniques, lessons, and inspiration with all of you!  I am starting my 2nd year of teaching Elementary Art but have taught 7-9th grade art for 12 years prior.  I’ve done it all!  I love what I do and it is my passion!  I learn from the kids as they learn from  me!

  1. I love that I found your site! Im originally from around Watertown NY, but I have lived and taught elementary art in Arkansas for the past six years. I came here just after college (Potsdam) and I am always looking for ways to connect with other art educators and share new ideas….thanks for the great tips:)

  2. Thank you for this website! I am a brand new art teacher (I just started Feb. 11th and it is only March 3rd!) at the elementary level doing K-6. Your blog is very helpful to me – Keep doing what you’re doing! You’re an inspiration!

  3. Wonderful tips and projects! Thanks for the great pics too. I have been teaching art for 15 years, taking time out to raise a family and pursue my own artwork. I am back in the classroom, high school and middle school, and was in elementary last year. Your project ideas are spot on cool, and I look forward to reading more from you 🙂

  4. Hi, I had the opportunity to attend your workshop during the National Arts Educator Association in NY. I was hoping if you had any documentation from the workshop that I could access it on line. The workshop on “Beyond the Sketchbook” was inspirational. Thanks for sharing. Tammy

  5. Your blog is so helpful! This is my first year teaching in a classroom and I have grades k-6th! I’m only there two days a week, so I see a lot of students in a small amount of time, and your tips are extremely helpful! I was wondering where you got your tables?? I’m using long tables which are too high for some of the littler ones, and they take up so much usable space. Thanks again!

    • Unfortunately, I don’t know where my tables came from… They were there when I got there. The district ordered them. Sorry!!! Thanks for following me… I need to update soon!
