Empty Bowls Dinner Recap

Here’s an update on our BIG Empty Bowls event.  It was a lot of work but with all the volunteers, helpers, and parents, it went smoothly with just a few bumps and LOTS of smiles!  The night of the event was filled with excitement.  As families arrived, they got to pick a bowl as a remembrance of all the empty bowls in our community that need filling in order to feed people.  All the monies raised went to the CNY Food Bank to help feed families that need it.  There were delicious soups, homemade bread and cake and a silent auction of “Celebrity” bowls that were made by staff members and community artists. Here are some photos of the evening.

All in all we had a great turn out (about 250+  people) and raised approximately $600 for the food bank!  Thanks everyone for all the help in organizing, volunteers who served food, clean up crew, helpers at the bowl tables and auction tables, staff bowl makers, centerpieces, placemat artwork, donations from area businesses, and all the teachers and a parent that made soup and bread! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have a lot of new projects to add but I’ll be back later this week with those!
